NYC Financial Firm

Mid-century office towers are iconic in New York’s skyline, yet many are outdated and facing demolition. But for LSM, these 60-year-old structures still hold immense potential. Specializing in transforming these spaces, LSM recently updated a financial firm’s Midtown office in a 1960s International Style building, blending modernity with the building’s original charm. By embracing the building’s steel framework and strong organizational structure, LSM created a light, bright, and dynamic environment that fosters collaboration and employee interaction.

Working within the building’s challenges, like low ceilings and bulky mechanical systems, LSM used clever design strategies to maximize natural light and space.

Key features include a striking three-story volume in the conference center, reflective mirrored columns, and a sculptural marble wall that gives the space both texture and elegance. The design integrates curves throughout to soften the rigid structure, from rounded meeting rooms to a graceful staircase that guides visitors through the space.
